Angry Time for new window motors AGAIN

Soooo,

I have replaced my driver's side window motor with a reman about 3 years ago. It has finally crapped out again on me. Just after the driverside crapped out, the passenger side is failing me.

Long story short, summer is coming again, and i need window motors.

I would like to upgrade the motors to a beefier/stronger motor that will not wear out. I do not mind putting up more money now for benefit over a longer period.

Can any of you recommend, a direction that i should head in?

Thank you for your help.

I think the reason they go out is because of the plastic parts inside.. I wonder if u could replace the plastic parts with stronger metal ones..

i would appreciate it if people kept their replies to actual experience with 'upgraded/beefier' motors. that way the thread does not get off track.

Looking for a good way to end the problem for good.

Have you tried cleaning the inside contacts of the motor first? there's a diy that saids the only reason the motor fails is because corrosion builts up on the motor contacts and prevents the motors from working properly. If you clean the corrosion, the motors start working again. i would try that first before you buy another motor.

If after cleaning it, it just happens again later go on ebay and look for window motors from mikesmotors. he sends you a motor for $90 and then when you send back your motor to him he gives you a $30 refund. He also will replace the motor if it goes out again.

Yeah it's not necessarily the motors that go bad per se, as it is the carbon build up and the soft brushes they use.
Also, I tend to stay away from remans. Bad experience personally.
If you can, buy new..Don't know where you'd get motors with better brushes though.

I did the cleaning twice and had the problem come back eventually so I went for the reman. Its been 6 months and its going strong. I wouldnt have gone for used if it wasnt going to be $60 instead of $120 with a lifetime warranty on it
