Clutch oriented.

I'm pretty sure my clutch issues have been dealt with before, but I really need assistance before I proceed.

Engaged my clutch and it went down easy enough but stayed down. I pulled it up and tried again but the same thing happened.

I cannot shift my gears and the car is stuck in neutral.

I am fairly certain that either my slave or master cylinder has gone out. What I wanna know is this:

Is this my best bet as far as fixing my issue? If I buy a new Slave/master cylinder would I be wasting my money or will it fix my problem?

You could try bleeding the clutch fluid before buying parts. This will sometimes happen with old clutch fluid when the fluid gets hot, but it will usually go away once the fluid cools. Air in the system could also cause this problem. If bleeding doesn't work, then yes, you will need a new slave or master cylinder.

It was quite cold that morning. I wish it was that easy. I think it is a Slave/Master issue. As my car is almost 100K, I think a new Slave is a good idea anyway, likewise with Master, but i will bleed it and see where that gets me.

Just to let you know, I bled the lines twice and I could feel my clutch get a bit tougher to push in, but not too bad. However my clutch did not pop back up and the issue is the same.

I bled out all of the bad fluid.

A new Slave and Master are on the way. No big deal. More likely, if I succeed, my clutch will shift better because of the newer parts and I plan to replace with Dot-4.
