A better idea is to get MotorDynes ART pipes, then save your $$ for a real dual exhaust system which eliminates the y-pipe. This way you get maximum HP and the coolest sound....

I have an 04 btw..

With the Y-pipe, Tanabe exhaust, and a downpipe, would the power be significantly different with headers as well? Or is headers not worth it?

And for spacers, 5/16 Motordyne is the one to go with, correct?

THIS IS SO CONFUSING!!!! ARGH

Yes, get the 5/16 Spacer too.

Once you have all your mods done, get an Osiris tune.

Don't worry about headers unless your getting long tube headers which cost about $1k. Search the forum for long tube headers. Lots of info on them.

not true...

yes, if you're non-RevUp headers w/o cams won't do much but w/cams the gains are pretty sizable. if you are RevUp, you can get decent gains on stock cams w/headers.

I have the Megan HR Y pipe with my Nismo S-tune, and I love the way it sounds. Much less restrictive than the stock Y pipe. Really it's going to come down to 1) What are your ultimate plans for your car, and 2) How much money do you have to throw at it?

I have a tanabe medalion.. I saw somewhere on the forums that there is raspy(?) sounds from different combinations. Anyone heard of or have this combination of Tanabe + Megan?

Or am I just dumb?

I suck at this car stuff..

And to answer your question, as of now, first I was going to do.

Headers>downpipe>ypipe> with my catback.. (already have intake)

I'll just sell the headers I have since they said headers do nothing for my car...

In about a half a year.. I have some money coming in.. so I was hoping (crosses finger) I could.. or should I... turbo.................... my car? ....... I will maybe have 6-7k....

Did you get the resonated xyz pipe? or straight? Right now i have test pipes with a coupe middy and a magnaflow muffler. rasp is bad. i wanna keep my exhaust loud but lose the rasp. idk if i should go with resonated cats or the resonated xyz pipe. some say a simple tanabe y pipe eliminated a lot of rasp but i find that hard to believe.

Did you Tanabe y pipe change sound wise at all? i'm debating on getting resonated test pipes or a xyz pipe "resonated" i assume. I have test pipes a coupe middy and a magnaflow muffler but my rasp is terrible. i'v herd a few people say that their Tanabe y pipe helped a bunch with rasp but i find that hard to believe they have no heat shields nor they resonated. i wanna keep my exhaust decently loud and keep the flow good. i'm not sure what would be my best option. Any opinion?
