500 lbs extra is a lot of weight, my guess would be that the weight was the difference.

Re: i RACED A Z

Your at a big weight disadvantage against a Z, and then you added all that extra weight to boot. If your truly 500 pounds heaver than he is, and where only a car behind, I'd say the HP was at least equal, with maybe more in your G.

Cool man that must have been fun even though you lost heh

I think it all comes down to who can shift at the right points, and how fast you can shift (the weight difference seems very small, however for every 15 added pounds, you lose 1 hp)
Now im not doubting your shifting abilities steve, but that could be it because it seems like his 1-2 shift was crisper than yours, maybe you were racing against michael schumacher?

Re: i RACED A Z

with all that extra crap in your car u lost a lot of power. If you were the only one in there and no extra stero u would have tied if not beaten him with ur intake. And the coupe does have 280 hp it is not been pushed. the dynos have proven this

There's no maybe about it - the weight disadvantage killed you. Be happy the outcome wasn't worse considering the difference.

You would need 325 HP just to stay even with him at that weight, all other things being equal. Its all about power to weight ratio...

Re: i RACED A Z

what a lot of people don't realzie is that hp and tq is nice, yes, but gearing and weight makes a HUGE impact. sound system + big buddy = slooooooooooow car.

like they said, with that much weight you were carrying around, if you only lost by a car lenght, if it was driver vs driver and nobody had any junk in their car it'd be even at the very least.

ya did well...but next time lose the big buddy...and i even doubt if the cai even makes any HP..but thats a different topic all together....if it does..maybe 1 or 2 hp gain if that. This is an N/A car remember.

Apparently every 100lbs of extra weight will increase a 1/4 mile time by 1/10 of a second.

Re: i RACED A Z

lol here we go with the beef now. ROUND 1 let it begin i'm kiddin, but i'm surprise because i ran a Z about a month ago and i spanked it well not really spanked it but beat him by about a car length. It was definitely the weight or maybe you don't have enough racing experience.

Re: i RACED A Z

I highly doubt a G will spank a 350z or even come that close to beating it...maybe the driver didn't have adequate driving skills, or maybe it was an auto--- I went to the Nissan dealership and saw way more autos on the floor. There are so many factors but if you are talking about a fair race with same transmission and similar driver skills, then the Z will definitely win. Go research time slips on the two cars and compare stats and quit being cocky and ignorant.
