Scared to push it, stays warm for a while. 04' coupe

I bought the car last fall, drove it for a week, then put it away for the winter. I now have 2 days total driving the car and love it. 47k total miles and it has had a V2 Vortech supercharger for the last 10k.

1. I am scared to push this car and have so far stayed 1k under redline. It has been properly taken care of (meticulous) and the oil on the dipstick is still amber. With the sueprcharger, how hard can I push this engine before something goes pop or the auto tranny dies? When I want to drive "hard" I tap shift since the previous owner said that would help the tranny. Would really like to see what it can do on a nice clean, dry, empty road.

2. It seems this engine stays warm for a couple hours after a drive. It was 55 here the other day and I came back 2 hours later and it was just cool enough to leave my hand on the block. Is this normal?

Thanks for the help.

I thought the superchargers were only approved for the manual transmissions. But, hey, I'm newer to the boards so maybe a Senior member could confirm.
'Would really like to see what is can do on a nice clean dry empty road".... you mean a drag racing track right? Search for one around you and head out there one Friday night. I'm sure you'll love it. Go with a low tank and put in a few gallons of 103 race gas.

I have an 04 6MT coupe with a V2 Si trim Vortech. My engine stays warms for several hours after a spirited drive.

I have a pretty safe tune from ZCG and their have been many times that I have bounced off the rev limiter(redline). As long as you have a good tune you should be able to push it to redline occasionally. The rev limiter is there to protect your engine from over-revving.

I'm not sure about the auto tranny though. Maybe someone else with an auto can chime in.

I have 5K on my Vortech since intall last November. And its running as strong as day one.

Engines with FI run hotter so that is normal. As long as your setup was put together properly and has a good tune you shouldn't have any problems. The tranny will still last a while, I would recommend a tranny cooler if you don't already have one since heat is the main issue. I've only been boosted for 15K miles but my tranny (78K miles) has seen a lot of abuse and is still working fine.

Thats what their website says but there's autos on here with the Vortech.

I would get the trans cooler and the Transgo valve body mod.I have over 70,000 miles boosted on my G one way or the other and my trans is still working perfect.
