Heat comes from under the dash when off.

Hi all,

First want to say thanks to everyone who posts its been very helpful! Secondly, I brought a 04 g35x w/premium package about a 2 mo's ago. When I purchased it I confirmed that the cd player doesn't work. Now that it is 80 here in Chicago and can drive with everything open I feel heat coming from under the dash when the controls are turned off. I doesn't sound like the blower motor is on but there is heat coming out from under there. The questions are can I kill the heat somehow as it appears to be stuck on some how. And is this a problem related to the faulty cd player?

Thanks all,

Brian

This is normal when the weather is warm and your engine is hot. The VQ engine produces a lot of heat.

since your cd player doesn't work, its highly probably that the a/c controller doesn't work properly since its connected to the cd player...

The G series are based on the FM platform (front midship ), which means that the engine is located closer to the back of the engine bay for weight distribution. This in turn can create some noticeable heat from the cockpit of the car. It's not an odd or rare thing, I believe everyone experiences this issue in some way. It is also common for the head units in these cars to go bad due to the heat they experience.

The ac controls and CD controls are in the same panel, but they do not share the same wiring.
