Looking for a G35--- 05' vs 06' --- Which one?

Hi guys,

So I'm currently an A4 owner. I love my car but I'm ready to make the switch. I'm currently looking for a G35 in the $15K range. So far I see that I can afford a lot of 05's and a few 06's (that don't have absurd mileage). So my question is, is the 06' that much better? I've heard yes, I've also heard no. It's always so hard to get a consistent answer on these things, so I figured this forum makes the most sense to consult on! Is it true that 06+ comes with a plenum spacer and 05' and earlier does not?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Dan

Search is your best reply. However, since I own an 06', I'll give you a quick answer. First, are you looking at a 6mt., or an auto? Makes all of the difference in the world. There is absolutely no comparison whatsoever, I love my 6mt. It has so much more access to mod.improvements. Coming from an A4, it might not be rocket science what you should do. GL with your choice. No matter the price, just don't buy a cheap high mileage car lot many around here have done so, you'll regret that choice.

05 in a manual has the same enigine as the 06.....300hp rev-up enigine .... not sure about the auto. 06 comes wit the memory power seats, and projector headlights and 05 does not .... I personally got an 05 with full aero kit including the front lip because i liked that look better. I can alway buy 06+ headlights. You have to decide what is more important to you.

First, none of the years come with a plenum spacer. With that said, I would choose either year depending on how the vehicle was maintained.

What do you consider high mileage??

I'm tempted to hold out for an 06' based on everything I've heard. I'm absolutely going with manual. After driving manual for the last 10 years I could never go back. Ha my friend is convinced that 06+ comes with a plenum spacer. Oh well, I can do that myself.

Infiniti gave the G a minor brake redesign that is present on all '06+ models, which significantly increases the working life of the pads, and more significantly, the rotors.

Not a game-changer, but worth consideration.
