Brakes Please help with car brake problem!

Hi,

Starting from a few days ago, I've been hearing a high pitched screeching noise coming from my brakes. It happens when I slightly brake but goes away when I fully brake.

My brakes pads (Posi Quiet Ceramic) are only 1 month old as are my rotors (R1 Concepts Premium Slotted).

I went to my mechanic yesterday and he said its not the worksmanship, but rather the material of the brake pads since the noise didn't happen right away. He also said that the only way to fix it is by buying new brake pads......
He said the noise will never go away (I thought it might have to be broken in?). Is this true?

What should I do from here?

Thanks!

that doesnt sound right....it's more likely that he forgot to add brake quite to the back of the shims when he installed your new pads. I have R1 and Posi quiet and have no noise

ceramic brakes should make a little noise when you start the car from a cold start but quickly go away after braking a few times. i agree he might have forgotten to put the shims on or forgot to put on the anti-skeel grease.

Well I had an issue woth noise when I bought ceramic brake for my girlfriend's 04 TSX..I had a shop put the brake on because I had to get the rotors resurfaced. Anyways when I left the shop and immediately I heard squeaky noise when I brake ...but it went away when I brake harder...long story short I found out a cheap brand of ceramic brakes sometimes u will get a squeak when u brake...so if u want no noise then u gotta get a good brand and best quality ....good luck hop this helps

I've had my rear brakes replaced twice, my front brakes once. Not once have I felt any problems or anything abnormal after getting my You might want to get them checked by a third party.

Exclamation

well from my experience as a brake tech, i would suggest verifying the brake hardware is not scratching against the rotors. If the hardware was installed incorrectly or placed incorrectly it could cause a squeal. you can also try to try brake quiet on the shims as well to hold the pads in place. if you check the pads again check the pads so not have any pitting or cracking whatsoever, the slightest chip or crack can cause the pads to squeal sometimes as well.

Thanks for all the input. I'm going to another shop that I sometimes go to tomorrow to check it out. Ill tell him what you guys said.
The first shops advice of having to buy brand new pads doesn't make sense to me. Theyre only a month old.

Wow I actually got wtf looks today when driving. Embarassing

Btw I noticed that the first five mintues of driving the car there is always no brake noise. But then after about 10-15 minutes it starts...

Tomorrow I'm going to this shop called Protune lube and tire in etobicoke.
