After the cost of the motor build alone, counting removal, teardown, all the machining of the heads, and the re install... I was afraid to even start the thing. But it started right up, runs great, and is as silent under the hood as a college library. I am very pleased with all the work that has gone into the build. Paint and all. Ryan at Forged Performance is the man and he made sure to take great care of me. I must say... I was nervous just blindly sending my motor to a complete stranger thousands of miles away... without ever stepping foot in the shop. But I am completely impressed. I would strongly suggest anyone that is looking to get a built motor to send it to Forged

I like it. - granted you have painted the hood white/IP already.

both our cars are very similar. IP, kuruma front, volk gt-s. I would love to have a gold set as opposed to my gunmetal. If you decide to powdercoat them, atleast trade the faces with me.

Went to the auto show last weekend and was not necessarily impressed with no new G37 anytime soon. Maybe in two to three years they say. Care to share h.p. output when you have it dynoed? Interrsted in the engine rebuild cost but, p.m. me if you don't want to post it on here. Looks d@mn sweet so far. Thanks for the thread so far.

Thanks man! It is a toss up here... All my buddies are saying to Black them out. But thats probably because... all they can afferd is the cheap black ones... or because they are trying to look like everyone elses car. I personally think it looks pretty trick with the gold.

One last pic. I am incredibly happy with the outcome of the project. From the paint to the motor.

Engine rebuild is no big secret as far as cost is concerned. It was just about $5,000 for the bill at forged. Then I had shipping I had to come up with. From Colorado to Georgia was not cheap. Plus the insurance for the motor both ways. Remember that this is only a short block build. The rest was all done in house by one of my techs. The R&R on the motor was about $4500, that included pulling it out, stripping it to a short block, sending it off, rebuilding all my stuff here, timing chain, new clutch, new flywheel, decked heads, port and polish, grand total was well over 12K. But it was completely worth it. Then there was the paint. That was 4500$ but I can justify it because now I have a mint condition 06, with 40K original miles, with a brand new power train. And no longer am I an oil consumer.
