there are tons of threads on plasti dip on these forums

I even made a DIY on how to plasti dip your own wheels. I also put youtube videos up of the spraying process.

Look around.

Plastic Dip....can be peeled off! So the only good use would be on emblems in case you change your mind about having painted them. Plastic Dip on wheels? If it peels off they're going to take a major hit from the environment we put them thru, powder coating is the only correct way to cover wheels....bullet proof!

The only thing I would use Plastidip is on is the grill. It matches the black plastic of the unpainted part of the grill. It gives a matte finish though so if you're looking for a gloss finish look elsewhere.

I used plasti dip on my '03 maxima when I had it. It looked.. alright, I did it because I knew I could easily peel it off and was not sure if I liked the alloy rims better, so it was just a test. It has a matte finish to it, you are able to get it in a couple different colors(yellow, red, black, and white I believe). It is pretty damn durable, I had it on for over a year. Took it off because I didnt like the way it look on my max, but it looks decent depending on what car you have and the color.

Yes I heard you can use it as a primer and paint over it. Ive seen it done on a couple of forums.... That was what I was gonna do with my old max.. I plasti dipped and was going to spray a clear coat on top, a couple weeks after, but decided against it. I guess laziness played a role lol

Yea, really think about it. I mean its not a huge deal because you can peel them off, but still... When I was selling my max I decided to take them off, and it came off pretty easy but in the holes where the lugnuts go, I couldnt really get all the black off, it wasnt noticeable but was annoying lol

Painted grille, wheels and rear diffuser:

The wheels are still holding up well, no signs of chipping or the paint peeling off anywhere.

I used PlastiDip on my grill, simply because it holds up better to rock chips etc..
Added a few layers of clear coat for a more satin finish. Much better looking than the silver.
I painted my truck emblems since there is 'hopefully' no chipping back there.

I would not use it on my wheels, seems like it would throw off the wheel balance.

throw off the balance? is it heavy? i dont see paint throwing it off at all. and even if it does, i figure it'd be minimal and not enough to notice or mess with anything.

someone correct me if im wrong though.....

Plastidip is not paint, it is much thicker and you need layers of it.
I also do not see how you can get good even coats on a unlevel source like a wheel.

Yes it would be minor but at 60+ mph, minor could vibrate. The weights they use
to balance are minor as well. But lose one and you can feel it.

Just a thought I had. Would love to know what this stuff weights after 5 coats.
