Oil consuming 2005 G35 6MT

A couple of questions here......love the car. Just bought the car and know about the issues with the rev-up engines.

When can I expect this engine to expire? What would be the symptoms? Can I rev the engine without incurring further damage? Say 5-6000 rpm without worrying?

I have changed the spark plugs, 65,000 miles no oil deposits, no smoke from tail lights at start up nor any engine problems whatsoever. The current oil consumption is about + / - 3-4 mm per 312 miles.

Thanks!

Just keep topping it off and it's all good.

Keep topping her off and start looking for a replacement long block. When you go thru a quart every 50 miles or hear the death rattle you'll know she's gone....

And it's not like it's easy to check the oil with the fabulous oil dipstick that Nissan/Infiniti has provided us..

If you are consuming oil try thicker oil.

Yea........switch to 20/50 Dino oil and never change it. Maybe you can get enough krud to line your cylinder walls/pistons and stop OC....Gary

i thought that this problem only warranted a new engine if not caught in time? isnt it just the rings that need to be replaced if consumption starts?
