i don't think an even trade. depends on how much you can get the EVO for. i had a 04 AT g and traded it in for an 04 black 6mt after 4 or 5 k miles.....i only got 28 for it....the best way might be to sell it privately......you will get more doing it that way then just trading the car in.......but good luck~ i love the evo and sti as well.....if i had to choose.....i would go with an STI though!!~

I dont like the look of Evo, or Sti. They are ugly cars, but that's my opinion. both of these cars have cheap interiors. if u r looking for better handling and faster cars, then trade in ur G for the evo.

BASE ACURA TLX NOW WANT A G35 AGAIN THOUGH
Is the price for the "EVO'" worth trading or selling your car for?
If money isn't an issue...go for it.
Just remember the "EVO" is a performance car (-) lux features.

Hell why not just keep the G and get an Evo if money isn't an issue?

I do agree that selling the G on your own is better.
I traded my 03 sedan with 25K and was still upside down and lost about $10,000 after I added so many mods to it.

Good luck and let us know...how about trading up for an M3 or a used 911...???

Bobby

thanks for all the feedback guys. money is always an issue as i hate wasting it, i am sure everyone understands how that is.I was initially looking at a new s4 but the cost was almost 60k and i couldnt justify it for a second car. to make matters worse, i picked up my g from the dealer today from getting an oil change and they cracked my gracer bumper. i am just getting frustrated with the huge hit on the price of my car and the service from the dealer.

i am in the search for a good priced evo or cts-v, i will keep you guys posted. thanks again.

My buddy has an '04 Evo, so I have had more than a few drives in it? Honestly, being a sucker for power, the car is phenominal! However, I really see it as an "econobox" that is fast and handles! I am a rear drive guy, so the AWD does not do much for me and the car has no class really? I like the G, not as all out fast, but I would personally take on an Evo in the twisties with my G and would problably fair ok. The G has class, a thousand times better looking and a lot more to offer driver and passengers on the inside!

Also, the Evo eats brakes and tires for breakfast, you think the G is bad, my buddy had to install new tires and brakes all the way around at 16K?

KEEP the G!

The g will look good 5 years from now...and the Evo will be an outdated ricer.
Period.
There is no substitute for class.

Had to do some research on the Evo cuz I don't know much about it. I know it is all about what we want as consumers and we should not care what others think.....BUT....I would have to say that the Lancer Evo does not appeal to me.

-Less horses than the G35C 276 - 280
-Brembos -- okay!
-Got the box look

Overall....personally, I would not trade luxury and class with an awesome mixture of power for a Mit. Have you looked into the maintenance/service issues of a Mitsub.? Just my $0.02.....wouldn't do it.

jaay11 raises a very good point. With the prospect of Chrysler pulling funding from Mitsubishi the brand could end up going extinct. Mistubishi cars are notoriously unreliable and have MAJOR warrantee issues (I know from personal experience) especially on their turbo cars (this is why Mitsu scrapped the turbo for a V6 in the current Eclipse).

Mitsubishi as a brand is walking a fine line and could very well end up bankrupt leaving you holding your beanpouch if you're looking for warrantee work in the future (which you will surely need). There is a reason why Honda, Toyota, and Nissan are the only names that most people mention when they talk about japanese cars. Mitsu is just not in the same league (in terms of reliability and integrity, not performance).
