My sister works at dei and after researching it and talking to other folks at dei and at dodge (testing new dodge viper) they all agree it just moves crap from tank over injectors and boosts octane. Obviously don't get this done at the dealership, but they seemed to prefer redline greatly to Lucas. And big fans of techron apparently but I haven't researched it.

Those cleaning services that the stealer offers are snake oil. There's really no benefit to them, and for $300, they do the exact same thing that you can do in your back yard with about an hour's time, some basic tools, and a $15 can of SeaFoam Deep Creep...

Seafoam is pretty good stuff I must admit. My Maxima which I rarely drove had a VERY hard time starting lately until I finally seafoamed it. Now it drives like it's brand new, idle is smooth.

When I did it to the G I hardly noticed any difference. Made my tips a big blacker inside.

Go to your Nissan parts department and ask for the 3M fuel injector cleaner that Nissan uses. Stuff works great, but can cost around $15.00 depending on what dealer you go to. If they say theey don't have it or there is no such thing, tell them to check it through their dealer tire program or their nissan chemical ordering program. We use it at the dealership all the time.

The best way is always fuel cleaning induction. Seafoam, run rite 3 step. Stay away from 3m fuel cleaning its smells like paint thinner. But run it to the vacuum hose closest to the throttle body. I did 2 cars today with seafoam.

Have you ever taken a good whiff of SeaFoam? It smells like paint thinner, too.

All of these products are loaded with detergents. That's what you're smelling.

Also, a good thing to note: If you DO, in fact, do the SeaFoam through the vacuum line process, for the love of God, introduce it SLOWLY. I've seen people hydrolock their cars with SeaFoam before. If it worries you, use a can of Deep Creep. It comes in an aerosol that you shouldn't be (I say shouldn't, because I guarantee if I say can't, someone WILL) able to mess up.

I use Slick 50 and no engine oil. The one that coats is the only one you need.

Try smelling the other stuff u can't even inhale it.. Buy the dripper online and make sure it only drips and not a consistent stream.

Most of what you buy over the counter is complete garbage. "Polyether Amine" PEA for short is the only additive that is proven to do anything.

Redline
3M
Amsoil
Techron

Contain PEA, Redline is the easiest to obtain and has one of the highest concentrations of it.

SAE 831709

Anyone tried 3M Fuel System Tune-Up Kit, 08963?
Works great - I have used it on my G35coupe twice - I have original 123k miles

I'm about to install a bunch of mods and get and osiris uprev tune so I'm thinking now is a good time to clean my fuel injectors.

The dealer said that they actually hook something up to the injectors to purge the lines. Is there any method I can do on my own that will give me the same results quickly? It seems like products like redline require more time then I have right now.

Thanks

You don't have enough time to open your gas tank and dump a bottle of fuel injector cleaner in?

I've read reports of people doing this every time they fill up and noticing results after a fair while. I'm looking for something that will warrant the same results as a fuel injector cleaning service in a short period of time.

When you run seafoam through the brake booster line is that essentially the same as when the dealership purges them?

Every time they fill up? Whoa. That is waaaaaaay too excessive. I throw a bottle of fuel injector cleaner in with every oil change and I've been told that's even excessive. Running a quality 91+ octane fuel and fuel injector cleaner with every oil change will keep your fuel injectors plenty clean.
