If I'm not mistaken, 100,000 miles is the point at which you do the 100,000 mile maintenance which should include cabin air filter, time chain and several other parts to be replaced.

Time chain doesn't get replaced. Do your cabin filter once a year.

I'd suggest changing the in-cabin filter in shorter intervals than 100,000 miles. Maybe once every year. That thing gets surprisingly nasty.

And actually, it's suggested that the timing CHAIN be replaced every 180,000-200,000 miles. If you keep the car that long.

However, unless it's making excessive noise, slapping around on the timing cover, or against the guides, OR your car has jumped timing, there's no reason to change it. And if your car has jumped timing, well, you've got bigger issues to worry about than a timing chain.
