Just go and drive your car. Stall point is around 1.3 rpm, and Remember to rev match each shift.

PRACTICE. Its not hard especially with a stock clutch, with your clutch you can at least feather the damn thing.

do this clutch mod. It's cheap, easy, and effective.

There's actually 2 mods. The one above changes the grab point, the other changes the pedal feel - Link.

The 2nd one permits more pedal feedback.

It's all about rev matching. If you exert a little extra effort to making sure your engine RPM's match your transmission input shaft RPMs as you engage the clutch, you'll get smooth shifts. This is not a formula for quick shifting though. To shift perfectly smooth in a stock G35 in casual driving situations, you'll have to do some delay between gears to let the revs fall to the appropriate level. I sometimes double-clutch just to force myself to let the revs fall, especially when I'm skipping gears on an upshift since the revs need to fall further in order to match the trans. speed of the next gear I want to go to.... and this also saves excessive wear on the throwout bearing since you won't be sitting there with the clutch down for an extra second during each shift.

yea the more ive driven it the more i realize how important rev matching in this car to get any type of smooth shifting and ive gotten alot better at everything even takeoffs except for 1st to 2nd every time it seems so rough and like the car dosent like how i do it even when i rev match it seems to grumble or something is the 2nd gear more sensitive or something?

Before shifting/disengaging the clutch for 1-2 shift, try easing off the throttle - not completely off, but more so to slow down your rate of acceleration. This helped me with the 1-2 shift, which now is as smooth as any other shift.

For me when I go into 2nd, i rev match than let the clutch out not fully letting it out (about 90-95%) until I feel that the car smooth out. I also shift around 3.5k rpm for all gears.

i did the clutch mod and it didnt seem to do anything but make the clutch not go down as far which didnt really help at all i think i just need to get better by driving around and figuring out how to rev match better but i think this clutch is alot more fun than other cars its kind of a challenge!

Learning to drive a manual properly takes time.

First gear is ALWAYS the hardest.

Even after driving my 6MT Maxima for a year, I'd still catch myself dropping the clutch a little too hard or too early at times.

Just keep at it. You'll get it down in time.

Start saving for a clutch kit, and flywheel. I burned mine up on purpose so I have an excuse too tell my wife to upgrade.

The only way to get used to your clutch is to drive your car, practice makes perfect....or very close!

Take it to an empty lot on the weekends like a Junior College lot or something along those lines. That way you don't have to deal with traffic and can focus on getting your clutch down.
