hey guys so i have a 06 g35 with the oem spoiler which isnt bad but i really want my 05 spoiler back! it looks kinda weird imo without the washboard one so if i switched em would the holes be located in the same spots i wouldnt wanna drill new holes again

yea i cant seem to find it anywhere and it would suck to spend the money on it and then have it not even fit the old holes

 

Wow, I think a lot here prefer the smaller 06 spoiler or no spoiler at all.

I have the 05 spoiler and can't wait to dump it.

 

I actually prefer the 05 spoiler over the 06, although I have a strafe trunk now.

I think I remember reading that they both use different holes....

 

Just put a want to trade thread in the marketplace. And I agree, the 03-05 surfboard is the best spoiler for our cars IMO. Makes the rear look mean.

 

I've been thinking of swapping my 06 spoiler for an older style one too. Anyone have pics comparing the two? How many different style wings does the G35 have available? I like mine with the brake light.

I have a 06 style spoiler obsidian black if anyone wants to trade for the 05 one i would greaty appreciate it but how big of deal do you think it would be drilling another set of holes you wouldnt really see it after you put it on right

 

No spoiler > Spoiler.

I don't really like the giant surfboard spoiler the 1st gens came with...

The 1.5 is much cleaner IMO.

 

You more than likely wouldn't see it, but I'd HIGHLY advise painting the holes you drill to prevent any rust from setting it.

Rust under a spoiler is something you won't notice until it's far, far too late to repair.

 

I'll be selling my surfboard next month. The two stock spoilers use different mounting points.

 

Man thats such a hard decision i dont hate the 06 spoiler or anything i kinda like it but i miss my washboard spoiler alot it just sounds so painful to drill another set of holes in my trunk thats really stupid imo that they wouldnt have the same mounting points

 

Wingless>06-07>03-05 IMO.. I say keep it

 

These cars look 100% better with no spoiler. My mom bought herself a G coupe before I decided to buy mine. When she first got it, I really liked the way it looked with the surfboard strapped to the trunk.

Then when I got my OB G, with no spoiler, I decided that was definitely the way to go.
