As a suggestion: If you decide to remove the pan and replace the gasket, get the 1" pan spacer from one of this site's vendors. It will give you extra oil capacity. More oil is always better.

There's no need to have the stealership do the job of resealing your oil pan. Check with Nissan or any qualified shop, shouldn't cost more than an hours labor + parts....Gary

How hard is it to remove old rtv gasket?

I would assume drain oil unscrew and remove all bolts clean pan with blade and install new gasket.

Do I put any silicone anywhere?

also, what are the torque specs for the bolts? i don't want to over tighten them. Also i heard you have to tight them evenly when putting new gasket. is that true?

A buddy of mine suggested I drop this in since it's a very minor leak.

Thoughts???
Seems like a temporary solution if it actually works. Better off just fixing the issue.
