Sounds like a good plan. I live in Jersey( I wish I lived in Cali) but my friend is going to get me the best deal he can.. He said it would be $300 for a new front bumper with paint and labor included.

As far as going through insurance, this is where I might be screwed and HAVE to go through them... I'm trying to figure out a way not to, the only deal is I need a rental car as I will have to leave it at the shop during the week and need to get to work. The insurance company is going to give me one, however, I will see if I can just get a rental on my own.

look on the forums for exterior parts. i had a few places here that part out damaged Gs and Zs and i got an oem bumper with paint damage for 150 picked up, 170 mile drive round trip, worth it imo. paint damage dint even matter because it was going to be repainted anyways

Just posted this guys name in another forum and I hope he doesn't mind the advertisement but... hit up Phil from Grubbs Infiniti. He should be able to get you a price on that part and maybe help you out with a deal.

Thanks, I'll see what progressive says tomorrow. I never had an insurance company send a rep out to give me an estimate, and write a check the same day. Should be interesting lol

I once got rear ended and the insurance sent me to one of their body shops and they gave me a estimate and then they insurance gave me a check for the estimated amount and it was up to me to get it fix or keep the check.I kept the check n got a few more thing painted for less at a friend body shop.Hope that helps.

Mobile home guy also rolled out with his pants half down and his junk hanging out, trying to dispute his damage against the first car he hit to the cop....

Needless to say, it didn't go to well.

Like one of the other members mentioned find out from Infiniti the cost of a new bumper and what it will cost for paint & labor. You weren't at fault with this accident and they're not going to deduct the deductible like one member stated. Is Progressive your insurance company? (Scary) Once you get the check do what you want. Here on the left coast we have shops that specialize in bumper repair....check your Yellowpages that's a possibility.

Well the estimate guy is actually coming out tomorrow now. Also, apparently they haven't identified who is at fault yet because "there are conflicting stories"... I'm not sure how someone can argue slamming into the back of someone but whatever. Just sucks this process is going to take longer now.

The squabble is probably between the person driving the van and the person driving the mobile home. Since the Van wasn't the main cause of the incident, they are probably trying to figure out which of their insurance companies will cover it. It should just be up to the company that insured the guy in the mobile home

haha he must have saved a bundle by combining his auto insurance with his mobile home...

Still, they gotta see which policy is going to be paying out. It should all be on the Mobile home dude.
