Y-Pipe Install

Due to the non-existence of a DIY, vids or any instructions on how to replace a y-pipe, is it safe to assume it's pretty self-explanatory?

I picked up an XYZ w/straight pipe module and plan on installing it this weekend. T.I.A.!

It's very easy.

Jack up the car
Put on Jack Stands
Spray y-pipe nuts with penetrating lubricant
Unbolt the 6 nuts from the y-pipe with a 14mm deep socket
Install new y-pipe with new gaskets

May have to loosen the mid-pipe if you can't muscle out the OEM y-pipe.

That's what I was thinking. Too bad I don't. It'll be going up on jack stands for sure.

Are you putting it on your stock exhaust?

Yeah I'll post up a video for you. I'll eventually have a full exhaust with this, but I was curious how it will work with the stock exhaust so I bought it first.

I haven't forgot about your vid. Just didn't have time to get the XYZ in last weekend. I'll get one up as soon as I can for you though.

Should have saved your $$ and moved up to that very cool Motordyne Shockwave exhaust then you wouldn't need a y-pipe....Gary
