Is this G35 a goodbuy?
Hey guys I'm new but don't have a G35 yet. My wife and I are currently looking at one and are so close to buying it. It's a 2003 with 15,xxx miles. It's got 18" wheels so I'm thinking it has the sport suspension - but I don't know for sure since I'm a newb. They're asking 31K for it, is this a good price? Thanks in advance for any help or advice. AC

"$31K for used 2003 regardless of features is too high. My friend got a 2003 base model Coupe about five months ago at $19K."
that is WAY below kbb and i'm sure a one of a kind price!!! despite being a bit off, kbb pricing for a 2003 5at base leather without any options is from $28k-29k. when adjusting for actual, real world pricing, i would say it would be less a grand or two depending on the region and condition of the car. but i GUARANTEE that the $19k for a base coupe had some issue for it to be that low...either accidents, flood damaged, salvaged, owner had to leave the country immediately, etc.

Try checking Kelley Blue Book (www.kbb.com) to price it out with the options (if any) for that year.

I got my 03 G35 auto with 22,000 miles last month. It has navi, premium, and aero. Got it for 27000 (taxes, title, plates, etc. included). I think I did alright. It doesn't have the brembos or the 18's.
I'm working on getting 18's for summer.
The dealer also gave me the wheel and tire insurance for 5 years. I've already used that once (got a puncture high up on the sidewall - they gave me a brand new tire).

"KBB.com has, IMHO, been notoriously high in there resale values."
i think it depends on the model of the car and area you live. for example, when suv's were the rage, you could have sold your used suv (4runner, pathfinder, etc) for high private sell kbb price easily in california. or if you're selling your used toyota corolla or honda accord sedan, you could have gotten high kbb as well. a few years back, my parents sold their corolla for high kbb and sold it within 1 day after posting it. they regretted not selling it for more since they kept getting calls for weeks afterwards. ppl have to remember that kbb is used for a "gauge" on what to price your car (private sell, trade-in, retail) at.
but in our case, kbb is overpriced since the supposed resale value is so high, used coupes end up costing almost as much as a new one.
