(WARNING) Pulled over in Tahoe for window tint & front license plate

Well Guys,

I headed out to South Lake Tahoe for the weekend to chill. I have tint all around on my G, the sides are a lighter shade than the back and I have a pretty light tint on the sides. You can actually see people in the car.

Got pulled over in south lake tahoe while heading down the emerald bay state park. I got a Fix-It ticket in Tahoe for front license plate and window tint, the officer said he pulled me over for the tints, the front license plate was a bonus I guess. They are pulling over people for window tint this weekend, noticed a few people pulled over with tints. He did not say anything about my smoked tail lights though. If you guys are in Tahoe, you may want to roll down you windows

It seems I have to take down the tints and hang a front plate to get signed off on the ticket, anyone what happens if I take off my front plate or tint my windows after the ticket has been taken care off. Will i get a fine or a Fix-It ticket the next time ?

Does anyone have suggestions on how to get my front plate on without drilling holes in my bumper?

Cheers

Same thing happened to me a couple years ago, pulled over for tint then added the no frot plate. Except the cop that wrote my ticket decided to screw me over by marking them both down as non-correctable.

I removed the tint and followed this thread for the plate: https://g35driver.com/forums/body-in...es-needed.html

Got it all written off and just paid the $25 per violation as a fix it ticket. Put new tint on , removed the plate the same day and haven't been pulled over since.

Same thing happened to me a year ago. For future reference through, the violation you got for tint and front plate is still the same regardless of whether it is checked correctable or not. As such, the court still sees it as a correctable violation. So if you find a cop who doesnt look at the details so much, you can get it corrected as the court doesnt care.

I heard you get a misdemeanor if you get caught without a license plate or with tints the second time (or) the third ?. I can't risk a ticket I have to pay for, but misdemeanor is a little too much for me

^+1 on the clip. Mine has been installed like that for over a year now and it has yet to fall off.

That's how tint shops stay in business...
If we all only tint them once, they be out of business = P

It's the game we play especially here in CA., no front license plate and tint. You can go for years and never receive a violation, but always expect to get one....I won't make a thread or complain when I do!

A couple years ago... I got a no front plate ticket parked in front of my house on the street by parking enforcement. Woke up in the morning to a ticket ^ like others have said... it's just the way it is... just pay it and move on. It helps fund the city officials salary raises we don't really approve of...

It's a good excuse for cops at night to pull you over, especially on weekends to see if you've been drinking. Just be smart about it and you can get away with it for years. I keep my windows rolled down when I'm on local roads and the weather is decent out, and I usually keep my front plates on when I'm in the mood to be responsible.

Not complaining, I don't mind the tickets as long as they don't carry points and turn into serious violations ... if they give me fix-it tickets, or tickets that I can pay for and keep doing this .. I'm good with it.
