Hi all, here's the deal. Bought a used07 coupe two weeks ago. Both seatbelt clips were broken so dealer said they'd order some and I could bring it back.

Two weeks pass and they keep stalling. Finally today the srevice guy says they need my car for the day. The clips are part of a package that includes the whole seatbelt assembly. Said it cost them $900+ for the parts. I know seatbelts are tied to airbags but it seems like the clips on the seats should br replaceable by themselves.

They're paying so no issue there but they damaged my rims and I'd rather have them put that money towards reconditioning them and id get the seat mounted belt clips at a salvage yard.

Btw it's not an infinity dealer. Thoughts?

 

They're right, the dealership only sells that part as the whole seatbelt assembly. I went through the same thing after my accident. I don't remember what it cost, but it certainly wasn't that exiensive. I had full coverage though.

 

about $200 for the front seat belt assembly

 

$200 x 2 (both sides broken) so they're crying. I'm 100% sure they thought it would be very cheap. I. Bought it the day after it came in and I don't think they noticed it till I pointed it out

Next question is - can they just mount the clip from the assembly to the seat and not use the belt or will they have to do the whole thing and tear the interior apart? The clip has a slot right? For removal of seatbelt when folding seats?

 

No, dealer won't - will replace the complete assembly.
