Not new to the performance game but its my first G35
I picked up an 04 G35 with 150k for pretty cheap, ( I'm a V8 man but it was a good deal ), I would like to find some info from you guys on how to pick up some more horses. I wanna do a turbo kit. Does an engine with 150k need to be rebuilt before you just throw a kit on it? It pretty much boils down to the fact that I want this bitch to fly, what should I do. I feel like I found a good platform for a fun sports car.
Ps I live in Dallas if some one knows a good place to take it.
Any advice or criticism is appreciated

Since it has a lot of miles on it, I'm pretty sure you want it rebuilt before you twin turbo it or do any F/I. F/I strains the engine and affects reliability so make sure your engine is strong before you do it.

Yeah 150K on the clock, I would rebuild it. If your gonna invest that much money into it, your gonna wanna make sure everything is done right and gonna hold up with all that additional power....The G can be fast don't get me wrong, but if your only purpose was speed, the G might have not been the best choice. But its a great car and enjoy
Forced induction will be the only way you can create signifigant hp in a G. I'd definetly rebuild, or atleast substantially build up the current engine if it has 150k, especially if you're not the original owner and have no real idea about the past maintenence/repairs on the car.
$6-7k when it's all said and done.

^That would cover a SC with stock block.
Expect to pay roughly $12K-15K for an engine rebuild and turbo setup.

What he^^^^ said plus another 5-7K in the bank for when the problems start.
Ah, missed the rebuild part. Who knows though, I would assume if the same shop that you bought the supercharger or turbo from did the rebuild, they would cut you some sort of break. $12k sounds about right for full price of each.

if your a v8 guy and know v8's, drop in an LS1 or LS2 motor and call it a day.. there are a couple kits out there...
you'll spend a lil less or just as much ...
and it'll have a V8 and ur that guy...

I like your enthusiasm on the build but why didn't you look into some prices on that model before you bought it? Of course I know nothing of your situation so.... Have fun and please post tons of pics.
