I know this is old but are you still having the rough sound over bumps? Did you ever check the tire pressure. Some shops i've been to like to fill them as high as 40psi which is insane and makes for a rough noisy ride.

try to budget more than $1000, you need TIRES NOW, and then struts, not the other way around

With the mileage on your coupe you probably do need shocks but before you put the order in have a qualified alignment shop check out you entire suspension. Worn shocks alone won't tear up your tires like you explained. I would hate to see you spend the $$ for shocks and new tires only to have them wear out prematurely. I just added Tokico D spec shocks and control arms that were worn out in just over 40K miles....Gary
