Motordyne motordyne motordyne! Plenum spacer, art pipes, and their TDX2 exhaust will do nicely. Do some small weight reduction, and you've got a decently quick car. There are lots of bolt ons for the car, but as previously mentioned, your best gains will be with FI. Also, once you've got all your boltons, purchase a custom dyno tune the car using Osiris. In addition, since you're (with all due respect) coming from a car that has boat like handling characteristics, dive into the strength of the G coupe, it's handling. Motordyne/Hotchkis sway bars, quality tires, adjustable control arms, aftermarket bushings, and coiloverss/adjustable shocks will make the car a blast to drive in the twisties. Just my $.02. 12's aren't gonna happen N/A but a 105 trap isn't hard. I trapped 104/105 with barely any mods.

A 5AT Coupe has a curb weight of 3,395 lb matched with ~275rwhp after you spend $2000 in bolt-on's/tune. Start looking for a new car if you "need" to be in the 12s.

Id look for something boosted from the factory so all you have to do is make a few fuel/tuning upgrades and you have a monster. Those Hyundai Genesis are making great numbers on the stock block with minor upgrades. I personally dont care for the car but it'll get you in the 12s.

Higher final drive, and TransGo.

Bolt-ons will not make much power on this motor. You'll lose response with most aftermarket intakes, and while most say not to get headers, they actually do make a few hp, making them more work than they are worth.

If you want something low maintenance, get a Honda and don't mod it, and don't crash it.

The G is not about straight line speed... It's suppose to be a luxary sports car...
I'm sure most people bought the G beacuse of the looks, rather than the speed...

The G was one of the first entry level luxury sports cars introduced to the market putting down almost 300hp at the crank, which was pretty much unheard of in the entry level price range at the time. Not only did it have power, but it had plenty of low end torque and handled as well.

Those of us who bought these cars new back then actually did buy the car for it's power and handling. It just sucks that a few years later, the standard for entry level luxury performance has well surpassed the Gs that we had.

Well don't buy it. The G is about performing well in each category, looks/handling/speed/reliability/comfort. Even though it's not the top of it's class(except looks ), it is a great buy for a great overall car.

Get a foxbody if all you care about is cheap speed and running 12's.

buying a house and cant have days where i spend 800 bux and work on it for 11 hrs.

I am getting a 03-05 g, coupe, with an auto...(i know, i know, but it will be my DD)

I know about the oil consumption, brakes, cd player, window motor, valve cover, etc etc issues. All goes for lt1/ls1 f bodies, just a bit different issues.

Anyways ive searched and searched, cant find anything on what NA mods are really worth your time....?? i mean if you are buying a vette of trans am, lmk, il tell you exactly whats worht your time and whats a waste.

Thats what im looking for here.... example... Is a cold air intake worth the 2-300 bux...?? some say no, others yes. I most engines they are worth it, but not all. anyone confirm this....??

from what ive seen biggest/best gains come from:

5/15 or 1/2 spacer
grounding wires/kits
tune/flash (whatever you wana call it)
test pipe/delete cats
cat back exhaust.

some have said headers are not worth it...?? ( in ls1 land they are good for 20rwhp)

I would think intake, full exhaust (header, x pipe/y pipe & cat back) + tune should take my stk 235rwhp/225rwtq to 260/260-ish....???

any help here??

really want the car to run low 13'/hi 12's..... (wow thats slow now that i think about it)
No offence, but it sounds a bit like you're trolling here to stroke your ego or something. If you don't want to be here, then leave?

There are only about a million threads about which bolt on mods are worth it and which aren't but if you're having trouble finding them, you can also try my350z.com or 6mt.

Really, buying an auto G and caring about breaking 12's with bolt on mods? low 13's, high 12's too slow for you brah then GTFO back to ls1forums.
