Question before buy car

Hey guys,

I am awaiting a call from the infiniti dealership at which time I will most likely buy a G35 coupe. I am guessing that they will try to sell me some special paint wax upgrade or appearance warranty or something like that. Can anyone with any experience with this tell me if it is worth it?

Thanks

I think they only give you 3 options - Finishing Touch, Lo Jack, Clear Bra.. Lo Jack will lower your insurance rates and will eventually pay for itself. Finishing Touch is nice cause you'll never have to wax the car *If you're lazy* and it will help to prevent your leather from cracking. Also if you get a stain on the leather it will wipe right off, if it doesnt then they will replace the whole seat for free. The Clear Bra is nice considering the car is pretty low and it will help to prevent nicks and scratches on the front bumper. Personally, I bought all 3 when I bought my Coupe cause they seemed to be some really good options to help keep the car in good condition.

I personally didn't get any of those options. I felt they were overpriced.

Just say no.

Use polymer wax like the easy to use NXT Techwax every 6months.
Clearbra, if you want, but imho, who are you saving the car for? Just
drive 3sec behind the car infront of you on the hwy.

At least the dealer didn't ask me about etching the VIN number in to the
windows!! hahaha like those mazda retards....

I was offered:

-interior wax, exterior clear coat
-lo jack
-5 year maint. plan (4 oil changes/filter, car wash, 15-pt inspection)= $899
-Number etching in which they etch a number in to all glass.
-Gap insurance- $500

What did I take? Nothing...yet but I can change my mind in between now and when the car comes in. But when speaking with a friend with an '03, he didn't get anything else and told me they are all bull ****.

-The wax thing I'd consider if roads had snow/salt
-Lo jack, why would I want a stolen car back, plus this car isn't high priority on the "to-steal" list?
-Oil change thing...its only 30 bucks and I don't drive that much or that hard.
-Number etching in the glass- Bull $hit, a thief is not in it to sell your WHOLE car or glass parts...
-Gap insurance covers the difference between what the insurance company gives you and what you really paid. If you are financing I would do this, but if you pay cash then your insurance company WILL refund you...check with your own company.

I was offered two except the clear bra. I talked them into giving it both free with the purchase of the car. Just go buy your car on the last day of the month, or better yet last day of the year which I did.

I don't care what anyone says, there is NO SUCH thing as NEVER having to wax your car, that is a waste of money IMO!

I like the clear bra and LoJack is not a bad idea either, especially if your insurance company gives a decent disount for having it!

I wouldn't get any of it... !!

Just remember that you can get any of that stuff AFTER you leave the dealership. The car's already new, what more do you want them to clean? Getting that crap at the dealership is a lot of $BLING$ that you could spend on FAR better things... like MODS!! =)

I was offered the GAP, sealent thing, and Low Jack. I took two of the 3, didn't take low jack since I won't be saving that much and i don't want a stolen car back anyways. The GAP is good because I'm financing. The sealent is good because for a little under $500, I have my interior/exterior protected. Having leather before, I think the side boster can get messed up pretty easily if you in and out alot and don't pay attention. So if that happens, it's a free replacement. The sealent really works. I don't have any water stain at all. Water just roll right off. Which also reduce the amount of dust sticking to the car too. I got that put into my monthly payment, so it only increase the payment about $8. I think those two are worth it, but that's just me.

The ClearBra is the most useful.
