Replacement Headlights

Hi, I'm looking to purchase replacement headlights for my '05 G35 coupe. My Infiniti dealer said it would cost around 1500 (ridiculous) to purchase new ones and have them installed at the dealer. How difficult is it for someone who is not very mechanical to do this on his own?

Any recommendations for a reputable dealer online to obtain these headlights and what price should I expect to pay?

Also, I know the 06-07 model uses a different headlight than the 03-05 model's HID lamps; my dealer service manager told me that the 06-07 type are not plug and play compatible with my older 05 coupe. Is that true?

Thanks in advance!

$515 for a new pair of 06-07 oem projector headlights from Circle Infiniti on ebay. They are plug and play, it took me about 1 hour to change them on my G35.

You have to drop the front bumper, so keep that in mind, its about 6 bolts 12 mm bolts holding the bumper from what I remember, and 3 12mm bolts holding the headlights onto the car.

This is a good how-to video showing the steps to change the headlights. There will be a few extra steps that you will not need to do with it being an aftermarket headlight in the video.

Buy them online and if you have the tools and time put them on yourself. I work at a dealership and I have to say we charge waaay to much for of the work done, but than again there are so many people out there who would pay a dealer to work on the car than to do it themselves.
