Need Opinion on Rims

Hey guys,

I am really stuck deciding which set or rims I want to go with. I have about $3000 to blow on a set which include brand new tires. Please remember I also live in Canada and thus, prices are a bit higher than what some of you see down in the states.

I drive a 06 IP Coupe and need something to complement the car. I just purchased HKS Hipermax III coilovers so I will be dropping the car, otherwise it's fairly stock.

Here are some of the rims I have picked out so let me know what you think. Please suggest anything else that would really set off the car, any feedback is appreciated, thanks!

Choice 1:
Stance CS-5 in Matt Black
20 x 9 +20 & 20 x 10.5 + 27

Choice 2:
Vertini Magic in Matt Black
20 x 9 + 20 & 20 x 10 + 25 (looking for the most concave look, not sure if that's the best offset

Choice 3:
Used Work VS-XX
20 x 9.5 x & 20 x 10.5 (Black face finish)

I was quoted about 3k for the stance & vertini's with tires locally here so that's the high end of my budget. Let me know what you guys think!

Thanks again

VSXX gets my vote.

My advice, don't jump the gun on wheels. Do it right the first time - save up until you get the set you have your heart set on.

I completely agree! That's why I am struggling with my selection. Last thing i want to do is buy a set of rims and not end up liking them at all.

Problem is, not only do I have to agree on the rims, but so does my better half and as you can imagine, she is a lot harder to convince, haha.

haha 3000 to blow on wheels??....yeah buying rims is basically throwing away money but I think they are a good investment

But yeah i agree with the other Drew with saying that you don't wanna jump on rims that you are gonna regret buying a week later....wait on that perfect setup that you want and you'll be 100x happier when you find it

Alright just saw that extra post you just put and are you saying your girl has to agree on YOUR rims going on YOUR car??......

Are you set on 20s? I'd go with 19s.

At first I was going with a set of 19's but changed my mind on 20's. I think they look perfect with a nice drop.

Haha, no she doesn't have to agree, she just has to somewhat like em, after all, she does drive the car occasionally.

Any more opinions....

Haha you guys obviously don't give women enough credit. My wife is actually a good driver, I've owned the car for over a year and no curb rash on my stock rays yet.

Believe me, if she was a sloppy driver I wouldn't be even asking such a question.

As far as aggressive look, I dont want to go overboard as its my DD but still get a good flush look

you have hks coils so dont cheap out with vertini or stance wheels (never heard of either brand)

OK, I think I am going with the Stance SC5's in Matt Black. I understand everyone loves the VS-XX's but to find the right set used, in the right colours, specially in Canada, is asking for a lot!

Now on to the final question regarding tires and offset.
I am debating about the fronts, should I go with 20x10 or 20x9? I know in the rear I will be going with the 20x10.5. Lowest offset they have on the 20x9 is +20 and on the 20x10.5 is +27.

I am planning on wrapping these in Hankook V12's, fronts 245/30/20 and rears 275/30/20. I will be lowered on coils so can obviously adjust the height as needed. Someone told me i may need to run spacers to get more of a flush look.

My biggest concern is in the rear, will I be OK with 275 at the back?

I'd go 285 in the rear if you're running 10.5" wheels. How heavy are those wheels you're considering?
