Z2G.....which dealer are you waiting on? My dealership told me as well that there was a delay at the port. My car was suppose to be at the dealership yesterday so it sucks!!!...I just hope its on its way up I-5 to the bay area as we speak. I hope it either comes in late tonight or tomorrow morning so that I could pick it up tomorrow afternoon.

Gee....congratz and please post pics and your experience with everything. Still waiting on mine, should be any day now. Since your in the LA area, I figure that it should be to long for the Bay Area to get theirs.

i ordered my coupe through the dealership in redwood city. i'm actually in norcal/bay area too. but watch with my luck, it's going to come today since i'm leaving for the weekend for a business trip down to l.a. : )~

 

Z2G....I C. Lets just hope that you don't see a truck full of G coupes going the other way when your heading down I-5 to LA. hehe, this would sux big time. I am an Infiniti dealer and the '05 6MTs that I have allocated are still on a shipping hold. The California dealers always get their cars early, but I haven't even gotten a ship date on any of the cars. I am a Western Region dealer and I can't figure out what is going on. I have six coming in and only three of them are pre-sold, but I would love to know when they are getting here. It is nice to see that some customers are getting their cars now!

Which dealership are you at? and what do you do there? If you can't explain why the cars are on hold, then dunno who could then. But why the hold though? Just doesn't make since as Infiniti told the whole wide world that the 05 6MTs were going to be avalible in JAN 05. Its mid JAN already and only a small percentage of dealerships out there have some. This is lame. I want my 6MT damnit!!! hehe.

 

I got the answer for you guys, my sales guy told me today its a total marketing ploy to get people who DESIRE the car to come pay full sticker for it, especially a car which has only been out there for 2 years prior, so thats the only way. Happens almost each year now. For the 04 6MT it was the same story except the craze died down 6 months into it. Now to belive him or not is another story, because from the corporation, I was told that its not a marketing ploy because if they could sell them or as many of them as they could, they would.

Newbie here. I'm in Michigan and my 05 Lakeshore Slate 6MT will not be in until the middle of February !!!!

 

That suxs man. I think Infiniti did a bad job with the 2005 6MT, with a late delivery and all. Might as well call it a 2006 G35. They should of gotten the 6MT out last year when the autos came out. I think the mid to east coast region will be affected the most by this unknown delay from Infiniti. I want my car damit!, waited long enough. Yeah, as you could tell, I'm bitter! hehe.

 

Yeah no kidding! I was told by the dealer in early dec it would be here in Jan, then got a call saying, Not until mid feb. Asked why? they don't know.

 

Congrats on the new ride.....I too haven't seen many '05 pics. Please post when you can.

I am the dealer in New Mexico (someone asked where I was) and I think it is all marketing. The cars have been built and are sitting at the port. I can tell by the order number that they are just on hold. Every dealer should be able to get sticker for the car weather it came out in the fall or now. I think the initial strategy was fine, but they have waited a little to long and the anticipation is going to die out if they aren't careful.

I just don't see why this hold would be a smart move for Infiniti. How is this marketing? Why place the vehicles on hold? Isn't it the point to get as much 6MTs out there so that they could sell them? Not unless there is a low amount of 6MTs and they are staggering them now. With the recent shortage of auto tranny for the G35, I thought we would be seeing more 6MTs now. Do you think the shortage has any effect on why the 6MTs are on hold right now? This is what the dealership told me last week as well. I'm getting my VPP and the sales manager still insured me that they are still taking VPP on it. So I just hope this marketing ploy doesn't make dealerships out there all greedy, to get as much for it as they can from the 6MT's. Just isn't fair for people that are waiting for their order.
