Yes Harris, with the knowledge they used a synthetic you could use any quality 5W/30 synthetic like AMSOIL. Google AMSOIL and find a dealer near you, takes a couple day to receive the best oil on our planet....

Mmkay - got the oil situated. Assuming labor is free (blessed with gearhead coworkers) I work for Toyota though - if/when I need to replace my clutch - go OEM, better options out there? Best price parts??

+1 Agreed. Doesn't matter how high of a quality oil you use as long as you just keep up with the scheduled maintenance. These aren't track cars with engines constantly at redline. No need to kill your wallet over it.

With that said, I use Mobil 1 5W-30, every 3 months or 3k miles whichever comes first. My local auto zone always run specials on them with free Mobil1 Oil filters. Since your car has been running a synthetic oil, stick to a synthetic. Doesn't matter which brand but for piece of mind, stick to the name brands.

But honestly, it really doesn't matter as long as you keep up with the maintenance at scheduled intervals.

Just because you say it's so, does not necessarily make it so. Used Oil Analysis results of various oils run through G35's and 350Z motors showed repeatable and drastic differences in wear on motors with certain oils vs those using other motor oils over the same kinds of oil change mileage intervals. Now maybe you think that the differences in the wear between the high end oils and the low end oils are not significant enough to warrant the extra price of the higher quality oil, but that does not discount the fact that it's a better oil and does a better job protecting the motor. Keep in mind that the guy who started this thread specifically said that he wanted the absolute best oil bar none, regardless of price.
