The flex pieces on my stock Y pipe seem to have a leak, it's ruining my exhaust note! Either way I need to replace it.

Any suggestions? I really want to avoid any raspy sound at all costs, and youtube videos don't really help show the true sound.

Thats what I replaced mine with. Made a good difference in performance but not to much to the exhaust note. I also bought the resonator for it as well so there is no rasp. Plus, if you plan on getting the MD TDX2 exhaust later on you already have the Y-pipe.

 

If I get the motordyne straight pipe instead of the resonator you think it'll have rasp? I'm not test piping in front of it, still has the original cats.

Midpipes are universal between the coupe and the 2WD sedans are they not?

 

HR = High Rev engine - aka 2007-08 vq35 engine with the dual intakes.

Just replace your Y-Pipe, won't make a noticeable difference in how you exhaust sounds regardless of which one you choose....Gary

 

The HR will fit the '06. I have an '06 sedan with the HR Y-pipe and it's a direct fit.

 

Im not 100% sure but if you have all stock exhaust from the headers back and you replace your Y-pipe with the MD XYZ or any other one I would think you shouldnt have any rasp but like I said, dont hold me to it.

I think they are. I always see people with 2WD sedans buying up coupe middys.

 

Well I think I'll go for the motordyne with the resonator, the stillen pipe has no flex parts at all and that makes me a little nervous.

Unless someone here with the Stillen pipes can say otherwise? They're much cheaper..

 

Dont know to much about the Stillen pipe but over the years of buying aftermarket parts for my cars Ive come to learn, you get what you pay for.
