problem is the op bought a oil consuming 05 6mt...most of them are oil burning and have this issue..has nothing to do with the cats..its just one of the oil burners

Pulling cats on the G is stupid easy, IMO, if you've had any experience with wrenching on cars...a buddy and myself installed the test pipes on my car in under 30 minutes.

Excuse me if I'm hijacking this thread, but how hard would it be to change to High Flow Cats (HFC) ? This way the issue, if there is one, with the OEM cats would be solved and wouldn't you get a bit of a performance boost in the process while remaining emissions legal? Also, are performance gains comparable to test pipes? Thank you.
