Winter driving
Good set of winter tires make all of the difference, I don't winter drive my G but my wife drives an altima SE-R with a VQ35 it was horrible until I got a set of Yokohama winters for it. Like others have said keep the traction control on unless you're stuck or working some deep snow or ice. She had a set of forged OEM 18s I put the winters on and bought a set of 20" for summer the only issue is 18-19" winter tires break the bank!! But since we drive as much winter as summer I didn't want steelies or those ugly *** ASA for 1/2 the year the other option is find a set of OEM 03-04 18" or 350Z 18s sometimes you can even find them for sale together I saw a few sets of 350Z wheels with winter tires for sale last year usually about $1,000 for a decent used set.

Well if I'm gonna drop 1000 on a beater, it's gonna need work so in the end I'm spending more to drive a POS instead of my G? there's like 7.5 months of winter here so it's not worth buying a car like this at 20 and driving a beater in the snow.
I drove mine last winter, with the stock 18's and wide winter tires, they came with the car so i just used them. it wasn't do bad i adapted to the driving, but this year im just gunna get some regular winter tires, not only is it cheaper because i balded the other ones playing around, but the wider the tire the harder it is to get traction. By the end of the winter even with my tires being pretty much bald the traction control did its thing and handles suprisingly well
Good luck and im sure youll do just fine, have fun... but try not to eat your tires :P

I blew out one of my winter tires and was on the fence about buying a new set of blizzacks(all 4) for this upcoming winter. However last month i lowered it and put a full body kit on it. The fear of sliding into a curb or chunk of ice made gave me the clear cut decision to buy a grand cherokee last week.
If my G was still stock i'd continue to do the winter tire change over. I only broke loose when i wanted to and it handled like dream. I had an occassional issue with an incline into my old 'hood, but made it. I am on-board with blizzacks and would consider selling my 18's with winters. But I the ~$500ish they command isn't worth it if i ever decide i need them
I drove mine last winter as well with 18" and blizzaks. It worked out fine but as you said before, it was a tame winter. The main thing I would do is get 3M all around the vehicle. Great vehicle in the winter and a blast to drive. Hopefully this winter is just as tame as the last!
