Can someone post a link to a good post describing the differences between projectors and how to discern the the different levels of quality? Thanks.

Ebay lights over a short period of time = Horrible fitment, Horrible output, Impossible to aim them

OEM projectors FTW

There is no post describing the difference. The difference in quality is the actually glass/plastic used in the projector lense. That's going to determine the direction that the light shines and the amount of output you get. And, unless you pull both sets apart and look at them with a magnifying glass, you will not be able to tell the differnce (in most cases). However, I can GAAAA-RONE-TEEE that the ebay lights will not be using the same materials as the OEM. They can't afford to.

Like I said, ebay is not the end of the world. It's like buying fake wheels. There are wheels out there that look like popular expensive wheels and they happen to be great wheels within themselves, but because they are replicas, they're assumed to be crap. It all comes down to you get what you pay for. Keep in mind, years ago...long long long long long time ago, the cars that we worked on didn't have expensive name brand options. We had to build/modify our parts. That time is no more.

IMO those ebay projectors are hideous. Might as well slap a Type R badge on the back...

Well i'm in a different situation. My car got vandalized and I've got to get new headlights as mine are damaged (cover, bezel, mounting tabs) and my customization insurance was set up wrong so it'll take what they're paying just to paint the 3/4 of the car I have to. So it'll be cheapies with painted bezel for now. But my question is, is it possible to by good quality projectors and insert them in the housings I have?

Yep, I did an FX35 retrofit on the first car I had. I got eGay headlights, took the shitty projectors out and put in the replacements. It wasn't easy but the housings were also smaller than G's. Definitely possible, lots of people do it.

In the end, the cost of ebay lights and good projectors will probably be as much as OEM housings, may as well go for em if its possible with your situation.

If you have your damaged housings still, would you be down to sell me the projectors? I'm in the middle of a retro and I need a second set of G projectors!

Add me to the list of members who won't recommend those ebay "projector" headlights. The light output on them can be so bad that it will blind cars in front of you. I actually have a pair of Spyder projecotr headlights for my Chrysler 300M that I took off are just sitting in my garage, I refuse to install them again and don't even want to sell them to someone else. They don't have a clear cutoff like you get with good projectors. They're great for reading signs on the parkway at night though, since the light is all over the place.

*sigh* The G gets cheaper to own, and the ricer parts start building up. It's only going to get worse from here.. I swear, if they eBay some new fugly altezzas for the G, I'm going to have to sell my car out of embarrassment.

^ Oh, it's coming. Just give it time.

We're already starting to see the little boy racers pop up around here.

Same thing happened in the 5th Gen section over on Maxima.org. One of the reasons I stopped going there as much. I got sick of the little fanboys and their ****-a*s attitudes.
