When I get home from work, I pull up to the Condo's mailbox and get out and get the mail with the car running with the keys in it, since the mailbox is only 20' away. My Coupe was locked when I went back to the car and had to get the "flat" key (the one in a plastic holder the size of a credit card) out of my wallet to get back in. I never lock the doors when driving. I don't know what happened since I drive my 300ZX to work 95% of the time.

You all probably knew this already but those new to the G, just a little info.
Yes, unfortunately, I found this out while at a do-it-yourself car wash. My wife had to bring me my spare. FUN experience I must say.

OK-- I'll explain the situation perfectly. When you're driving and 1) lock your doors from the inside and then 2) decide to stop and fill up, here's what happens. You pull open the driver's door without unlocking the doors (that is, without pushing the unlock button). You can get the drivers door open without having to deliberately unlock the doors (a convenience feature). However, when you walk over to the filler cap and try to open it, it's still locked because you never actually unlocked the locked doors. Then you tap unlock on the key fob to be able to open the filler door and fill up. But 30 seconds later, the doors will auto-lock because you haven't opened a door during that time after hitting the remote unlock. This remote-relocking is a safety feature to prevent you from inadvertenly unlocking your car when putting your keys in your pocket and walking away. That's why the car relocks when you're filling up.

Yup. My 'o3 coupe does NOT lock itself. It did when I first got it and I had the dealer re-program the system NOT to do that. Just like they can program it unlock both doors with a single push of the remote. I remember reading in here some dealers charging $25 or $50 for the 30 seconds it takes them to do this. Don't get taken!

Best thing to do when you get gas, unlock from the inside. www.kptechnologies.com for more info on the Windows Up Mod.

Tried the .com site you listed and I think it should be .net.

04 does the same thing but im still confuse about it. I parked my car in the garage. Sometimes when i want go get something from the car, i found out the doors were locked , somtimes it's not. I'm sure that if you turned off your can and left the key in the igniation, the door wont lock
