Black on Black G35 - New Owner

Hey guys,

Just recently picked up a 2005 G35 Coupe and started blacking it out.

So far:

Vinyl tail lights
Plasti dip rims (until I buy new rims until next year) + grill

Lemme know what you guys think, - random pictures and put them on Instagram.

Cheers!

Welcome to DRIVER! Love the "Stealth" look....look'in good. It's the small things that matter when you're modding your ride, debadge and clear sides would be a nice touch. Check out our MARKETPLACE under vendor exterior for a company called IONIC. Jose should have a lip for your frontend that will elongate the profile of your coupe and make it appear lower. If you ask he'll even have it painted for a small fee....enjoy the ride!

If you want to keep the all black look then i dont think clear corners would be a good option, get some blacked out ones or tint your stock ones.

Okay I'll look into that, I waited around for a black car, it's the only one I would buy.

Thanks Gary! Just working on it slowly.. I still need to debadge it and get the emblems gloss black. I don't know much about cars, friends helping me with all this.

I'm also painting my calipers gloss black.

I don't know what to do with the head lights, get them replaced or do something with ten.. Currently it has a tint of yellow fog on them, couple friends said go out and buy some material and buff it out.

I am fundamentally against terms such as "blacked out", "murdered out", "black on black", "stanced out", and numerous other popular terms from 2002. Sans all of that, Gary gave this car the best name and "stealth" is a look that is hard to pull off without it looking like you're too broke to do anything else. Not saying you're broke. Just every "stealth car" I see is an investment of $137bux and a couple of hours of ill-placed Tom Foolery.

Car looks good for what it is. Welcome to driver.

Didn't know what else to call it. But thanks for the input, so far it ran me 250 for tint / vinyl (tail lights) and 45 for the Plasti dip.. Not very expensive but it was the look I was going for. Still working out other things on the car, keep in mind.. I don't know anything about cars -.-

Ksgarcha, using high heat gloss black paint while your painting your calipers include the rotors where they're rusted. Do yourself a favor, save your $$ and replace your headlights with '06 projectors....guarantee you'll thank me!

^+1 on the projectors. As far as debadging, I removed everything but the Mt. Fuji and plasti-dipped it. Looks great. Can't say I like your tails, but to each his own.

Okay so you think I should get new roaters as well? or is there a way you can get them polished up..?

Approx cost on a new set of headlights?

I guess thats something I have to look for.. Did you debadge it with a head gun then plasti dipped and put back on with double sided tape? Or did you plasti dip with the badges on the car and just tapped around it and sprayed?

Ahhh - I love the tails, one of my favourite parts, was going to night shade them with the spray but decided to do vinyl just incase I got pulled over or didn't like them in the future.
