Red reverse lights on G35?
Hello all,
I've been searching the interwebs and I haven't really seen or heard of any G35s who have done this, so I went on Photoshop and did a really quick delete on my reverse lights. (Emphasis on the quick... Literally took me a minute so apologies for the rough edit)
What do you guys think? It'll probably be really easy to do. You'd just need to attach a red vinyl over the taillights.

I think you can get away with it.
Here are Evolution VII tail lights. The reverse is tinted red. That white line on the bottom is actually the turn signal.

Reverse on:

The white area isn't too noticeable, but when the reverse is on, it should be pretty obvious that it is a reverse light.

A backup lamp may project incidental red, amber, or white light through reflectors or lenses that are adjacent or close to, or a part of, the lamp assembly.
(c) Backup lamps shall not be lighted except when the vehicle is about to be or is backing or except in conjunction with a lighting system which activates the lights for a temporary period after the ignition system is turned off.
(d) Any motor vehicle may be equipped with a lamp emitting white light on each side near or on the rear of the vehicle which is designed to provide supplemental illumination in an area to the side and rear not lighted by the backup lamps. These lamps shall be lighted only with the backup lamps.

If no one has created a red reverse light there must be a reason. Forget the legality issue, backing up you want to see what's/who's behind you without restriction. Most of us install the brightest LEDs for the safety/visual factor....Gary
Red reverse lights, you say. Yeah, that seems like an absolutely horrible idea given the function and purpose of reverse lights. It's as bad an idea as having a white brake light. But hey, you grown. If you want super secret squirel reverse lights, AND you live on the side of the country that I will probably not do much, if any driving in, do you.
