With good maintenance, yes. There's a couple members that are in the 250K range.

original owner gave it to me w/ shot suspension so I bought used shocks @180k miles and I changed the rear end links, still have to do the fronts. bought energy and whiteline bushing but I've been to busy to hunt down a press and the appropriate removal tools to press out my old ones. I also dont have another car for the time that mind is down for that project.

I'm expecting/hoping for about 250k miles, but I want to start doing my research now to find the best parts/options. and with my old engine I can tell a HUGE difference in responsiveness between my car and my parents 06 G sedan :/

naw, I'll have to replace my tranny, axles, and various other parts so my car can handle that disgusting increase in power. I dont wanna be blowin my car up when that VTEC kicks in! who needs NOS when they have a VTEC?

Personally, I plan on going with a performance build when my engine goes. I'm at 125k now. I should be hitting 200k in 2 years, 300k in about 5 unless my driving habits change.

I've got all the money saved for the build and can pull the trigger anytime I want, but if the motor aint broke, I'm not gonna build it.

I love this thread!! Especially cause my car is at 85K and I don't really want to get rid of it anytime soon. I'll keep up with the maintenance, just hope that "getting on it" once in a while doesn't hurt the engine too much. I don't punch it from a stop or do any high speed runs, just don't like sitting behind left lane squatters for too long, or getting cutoff by some ahole lady in a silver 02 camry. Oh yeah, that was today, she wasn't in front of me for too long though.

I don't know, I think when my engine has to be replaced, if I find a low mileage engine I might just go for that. You can do a lookup on the vin and see if the car was serviced frequently, well sometimes you can.

The old vg/vq motors go well into the 400k miles range. I'd love to see the new ones do the same

I'd go with a Nissan factory long block along with new motor mounts. You should be good for another 200K milesGary

So long as there's no scoring on the cylinder walls, or serious internal damage to the short block, I'd say just rebuild it. That way you have peace of mind knowing that all of your moving parts are brand new.

Used motors aren't a bad idea, but you're always taking a gamble, too.

Unless you race your car, though, I wouldn't worry about rebuilding anytime soon. 234,000 here, and running strong.

Ive always been curious how my internals look on my motor with the constant abuse i give it, the only thing i could say i do thats good is maintanence on a regular basis. Your lucky though if your on stock bushings at 200k ive already replaced all the front ones and my diff bushing and im at 92k, but i also beat the s$!t out of my car.

G35 Sedan
I'll be looking to replace mine with a used engine...something under 50k miles, IMO car isn't worth enough to me to dump the upwards of 2.5k in an engine investment...just need to keep it on the road til i'm financially able to invest in a newer model

I think once my car is paid off in a couple months, I'm gonna start purchasing bushings, swaybars and endlinks..
