aero package vs. aero kit for coupes

the g35c's aero package includes the rear spoiler and rear underbody air diffusers. infiniti's website also lists an aero "kit" (with or without a spoiler). so what is in the aero kit? i'm guessing the front lip and the mudguards. can someone clear this up for me? thanks.

also noticed.......the aero kit w/spoiler costs $1200. the aero kit w/o the spoiler only costs $630. so the difference = spoiler's cost = $570, right? but the aero package which includes the spoiler AND diffuser costs only $550. so if you get get the aero kit w/o the spoiler and get the aero package, you save $20 AND get the diffusers. anyone else catch that?

You've basically got it.

Aero Package - rear spoiler, and rear underbody side air diffusers

Aero Kit - Front chin spoiler, rear spoiler (w/ or w/out), and front and rear body-colored splash guard

The aero kit gives you the front lip also. That's the difference in price. I got the aero pkg w/mud guards. I will problably get an aftermarket lip later on.

so if i want the front lip, mud guards, and spoiler, i should get the aero kit WITHOUT the spoiler ($630), and get the aero package($550). that will also give me the underbody diffusers and save me $20 someone at infiniti wasn't thinking.....lol

btw, what's the point of underbody diffusers?

If you are able to order the car, then yeah, I guess go with your save $20+get diffusers free plan. Otherwise, I don't think you'll see a car with that set of options on the lot.

Underbody diffuser's lower the drag coeff. from .29 to .28 (if that means anything to you)

The reason the prices don't add up to the same price is because the Aero Package (rear spoiler and underbody air diffusers) is factory installed. The 2 Aero Kits are PIO- port installed options.

If you get the Aero Kit (with spoiler), everything is installed at the port, not the factory. Plus, as far as I know, you do NOT get the rear underbody air diffusers if you go this route.

So, going with the Aero Package and Aero Kit (without spoiler) is the best way to go if you want all these aero items. You save $20 and you are making sure of getting the diffusers and the rear spoiler is factory installed.

I got my '04 Coupe 6MT with the Aero Package and Aero Kit (without spoiler) off the lot.

so i guess its cheaper for them to install the spoiler at the factory. don't know why it would make a difference, but i'm not complaining.

If you get the spoiler installed at the factory, you won't have the third center stop light in the rear deck. At least that's what I noticed.
