Auto headlight

I've noticed that my headlights stay on long after I've parked the vehicle. I have not timed it, but have had to go and turn the light off manually after a half hour or more. Nothing is blocking the sensors on the dash.

Same thing has been happening to my car. I've looked this up before and haven't really found an answer

I was thinking why would headlights stay on after you've removed the ignition key, even if something was blocking the sensor?
