I've searched and found similar issues but none like the one im having in which the radio display on my 2004 g35 coupe doesnt work however i can control the radio via the steering wheel controls and i have no issues with ac or ac controls. The radio (display and buttons) will work for a brief moment after the car has been running but then "freezes" and no longer responds. Cd's and tapes dont play but i assumed it was due to not being able to control the radio display. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

 

Havent had this in a g35 but my friend had a focus and his was a double din, it would do the same as described would work for a bit then that was it. It was overheating so i replaced it with another cd player no more problems

 

A lot of people have had similar problems with this. The only option really is to get it replaced either with an aftermarket option which I would highly recommend or get the current one you have repaired. To do that you'll have to take it out then send it to Clarion

 

I am having the same problem on my G I just bought today. After driving for a bit, all the radio controls seem to quit working.

Is this a repairable issue?

If I NEED to replace the radio unit with another double din unit, what do you recommend? Want something factory look with GPS, DVD, Back up Camera, ect..

 

Allow me to expand on this question...

Is there some engine monitoring software you recommend (that I would hook up to an additional video input that I would fabricate into the top of that dashboard (like in an R34 or R35 Skyline)
