Exclamation Exhaust with metallic noise...

All of a sudden start getting this metallic noise what appears to come from the exhaust system, only happens when car is cold (been 3 to max of 25 degrees here lately) for about 1-3 minutes then goes away. Noise is loud enough to over-scream the exhaust. Taking it to a dealer on Thursday night, so they can listen to it on Friday morning when it’s called. Just wanted to run it by you Geers to see if any of you experienced that before.

Also, when going through a touchless high pressure car wash, passenger door is leaking. It’s not bad, but seal definitely lets the water in. Dealer will check into that as well.

That’s sucks, car only has 1700 miles… my 97 bimmer never had little problems like that, nor big once. Japanese quality?! Just a little upset….

Good news, I am getting a loaner…hehehe you know where I am going. Will try to get a coup, or an FX… Or a sedan..well it doesn’t matter, I will be killing it and practicing my MM driving

I've been getting a metallic rattle/vibration on cold start-ups. I think it's a heat shield. I'm not sure if we are talking about the same thing though. here's a link to a thread I started Linkie

Ok, just got a message from assistant service manager of Infiniti of Cincinnati, they’re keeping the car till Monday at least to have somebody else (a supertech? ) to listen to the exhaust…. Will do the follow up when hear back from them.

So far they treated me very well. This Matt guy been pretty helpful

Are you guys getting white or black exhaust on the exhaust tips? If your tips are getting white, I think your cars are running too lean and may have to reset your ECUs. My friend had the same problem and got white exhaust tips. We corrected the problem by resetting the ECU? If your tips are black, then it's something else that is causing the problem.
