engine ecu question

so i just got my 03' g35 and the guy i bout it off replaced the engine with the 06' rev engine and apparently i need to upgrade the cpu. So I was thinking of just getting a used cpu from a 06'-07' g35 but then i was thinking of getting an upgraded cpu with adjustable settings and ****, any ideas? tryin to save money but definitely want the most power out of my babay.

I believe your best bet would be to get an Osiris tune rather than replacing the ecu, they can correct or make improvements that your ecu is lacking....Gary

Unless you plan on going FI in the future, do what Gary mentioned. An aftermarket ECU on a N/A car isn't necessary.

Just replace it with the ecu from a car that that motor came in, you will need the harness as well tho since it has a couple extra plugs. Then to make it work just reflash the ecu with Osiris and NATS can be disabled. (along with a whole host of other awesome features)

Unless you're trying to make 700whp+ the stock ecu with an Uprev reflash is more than sufficient for tuning.

the only thing is that I can't get the ecu from the newer car because it is a 6 speed and mine is the auto. can I still have someone flash my ecu to the settings of a 06? Also anyone know anybody who could do this in Washington? specifically the Seattle area? or how I could go about finding someone ad I can't send in my ecu because I use it as my daily driver

Try this, send JOKER a PM and ask him if he's aware of a tuner in Washington state. He's a long time member here on DRIVER with a great sense of humor along with being pulled over more than anyone we know....

Intec racing in kent Is an Uprev protuner and know their way around a VQ, they've built and tuned a bunch of turbo builds as well as various swaps (vk56 into a 350z etc)
