Issues with 07 G35

My 2007 G35 Coupe has been acting wierd after the battery ran all the way down. I was deployed for 8 months and the car wasn't run at all during that time. Right before I got back my girlfriend and her father hooked up a battery charger. The first thing I noticed was that the gas guage indicated well below the empty mark. It would jump up a little when the power was turned on, but never above empty. Just to make sure it wasn't the actual float, I pulled up the navigation system and used the miles remaining function, which has been working accurately. The low gas light also comes on accurately. The first time I drove it I made it barely to the autoshop for a once over when it began steaming and spitting out coolant. They took a look and blamed the thermostat. I live in Germany and it was a little bit of a hassle but I found the part (rather than wait 3 weeks for it to be shipped) and had them switch it out. At first everything seemed fine, then low and behold, on a trip later the next day to France, it did the same thing while we were trying to find a parking spot. I opened the hood and noticed though it was very hot neither fan was on. I thought this might be the problem, however the plug to the thermometer in the coolant pipe was secure and I saw the fans operating at a later time. I had some coolant in the trunk, let it cool off, filled it back up and then it seemed to work fine for the trip home. Generally the car will work fine then once or twice a week it will overheat. I'll turn the heat on high to help cool it off until I can stop. When I do this the heat will blow cold and then all of the sudden after a few minutes will get hot and the engine temp will drop again. At first I thought it may be the thermostat again, but now I think it's an electrical control problem. The reason I think this is that there are some additional issues. After the first couple weeks I started seeing some or all of the following lights come on in the dash: Brake, RAS, Slip , and the traction control light. Typically they'll be on for the first drive of the day and when I drive home later they won't be. I checked the brake fluid and it seems fine. Overall I think there is some electrical control problem that may have happened when my girlfriend charged the battery. They charged it while it was still connected to the car and I believe the charger may have overloaded the car's electronics at some point in the charging process. I haven't had a chance to bring it to a dealer since the auto shop on base doesn't have a disgnostic reader. Has anyone else seen these types of issues? Any suggestions or ways I might be able to avoid what will most likely be a huge repair bill??

You have air in the system, it's why you heat doesn't work well. The procedure to bleed in a nutshell is:

*Get car on an incline (either jack up the front end, or park on an incline) car must be cool
*Open rad cap, and either leave it open or use a lisle funnel, and let the car warm up until the thermostat opens. this will happen when the upper hose gets warm.
*rev car at 3k rpm for about 10s. Repeat a few times.
*recheck level in radiator and add. Bubbles should come out. You can squeeze the upper hose to make air come out faster.
*let the car cool and repeat. Make sure you keep the radiator and reservoir topped up.

For your overheating problem, you fans may have died. Maybe blown fuses?

When multiple lights come on, i've read that it's a charging issue (dead batt or bad alt). Try replacing the battery first.

Also, I'd pop in an OEM thermostat if you haven't already. I am okay with not using OEM parts for certain things (say oil filters and brake pads), and understand there may not be a Nissan/Infiniti dealer where you are, but if you haven't done so - I would consider this.

If you are not overheating at 40+ mph, you most likely have bad fans. It's a recall for 05-7 cars.
