Door Key Lock Assembly

Hey guys I was going to unlock my car with my key since the actuator has gone bad and noticed the whole assembly pops out just like in the pic I posted. I can slide it back to normal like in the other pic, but everytime I use my key to unlock I have to hold the assembly with one hand while I unlock so I don't pull it out. Anyone know how to fix this. I haven't found anything on this. Please help me...thanks!!

have you found any fixes for this? Mine does the same thing, and I worry about such easy break in?

The fix for this is simple. Open the door and you'll find a black plastic plug on the door right above and to the left of the lock mechanism in the door jam. Remove the plug and it'll reveal a big hole. Look in the hole and you'll see a screw with a star/hex head. Tighten it up and problem solved.

I don't remember doing anything special. I just lined it up and tightened it up. After that the handle wouldn't pop out anymore and everything was fixed. Just keep trying until you get it. Maybe try during the daytime when the lighting is better?

I had the same problem and this is what I ended up doing. Instead of screwing the screw by screwing straight, you have to angle the screw to screw from the right, while pushing in the key hole really hard. Eventually the screw will catch the thread and screw in. Let me know if this makes sense.

Yes, I said screwing the screw by screwing straight. That sounds funny.

Did you make sure that te inner plastic bracket that I had mentioned to you before is clipped on to the door frame that way it's aligned correctly to accept the screw
