need help attaching e-brake aluminum pedal....

hey guys -
i'm having trouble finding a good solution for attaching the parking brake aluminum pedal on a 5AT. i've tried three different kinds of liquid glue / cement only to have the bond dissolve after a month or so. i have also tried it with the stock rubber e brake pedal bad on and off, neither of which worked. any other ideas before i just get two small hex bolts, drill the pedal, and attach it that way? thanks.

i did this on my honda accord w/aftermarket pedals after all other methods failed......screwed the aluminum pedals on directly onto the rubber pedals. the screws go into the rubber easily, but its strong enough to last. i did it over 2 years ago and its still going strong.
