The 1996 model also came with a Z51 Performance Handling Package that was tuned for autocross.

Interiors suck yes - always have(i.e. AC unit looks like the same one they put in the Tahoe), but these have been some world class automobiles since the early-90s (midway through the C4 stage).

I love the G and all, but let's give credit where credit is due.

i'd say race him, you'd be surprised how terrible people are at driving cars with that much torque

i see C5 6 speed vettes run in the 14s occaisionally, maybe you'll get lucky

 

Does he know how to race? I know in a auto you just push the gas, but maybe thats all he will do. Make sure you get a good launch and maybe he will just punch the gas and peel out.......yes, maybe that vette can run mid to low 13's but with the right driver I bet it could run mid-low 14's, then you have a slight chance.......though I wouldn't be willing to put money on it.

 

I have beatin a earlier 90s corvette before, i dont know what year it was, with my mods listed below by a fairly decent margain (1-2 cars) it was earlier 90s though, new vettes got me by a bit up top, automatic c5s dont walk more than a car on me off rolls. Vette's get old and tired, id run him, hes gonna think hes gonna laugh at u and show off possibly burn through gears. do it up and let us know what happens...
