Synchro going?

Hu guys. I noticed a lot of talk about the synchros going, and it made me pay more attention to my gearbox. When I shift into 3rd, at the very end of the throw once the shift **** is seated I get a minuscule grind and the tranny has an audible clunk into place. I think it's only 3rd. I do not notice it when I downshift 4-3.

What are the consequences to this as it develops? I'm guessing it's just starting if that's what it is. Still shifts smoothly and the grind is only for .1 second. "crrrrr" noise. How much is this to fix? Guessing it's not a DIY. 06 6MT 64k.

i would just change the tranny fluid first and see if it helps. It was mainly the 03-04 manual trannies that were junk.

Try replacing the trans fluid with RedLine synthetic MT trans fluid, that one small change should make your trans operate smoother and eliminate the grind you're experiencing....Gary
