First and foremost, I am very aware of the door lock actuator issue with our cars.

I haven't had the time to have the actuators replaced via the $5 door lock fix, so I have been locking the driver side door manually and using the FOB for the passenger side.

My current issue is that I am no longer able to lock / unlock my driver side door manually with my key; and in order to lock my door - I have to go through the passenger side to manually lock it from the inside. Has anyone had this issue before ??

I really have no problem locking / unlocking the car manually for the time being - so long as I can do it with the key from the outside.

Any help would be greatly appreciated ....

Just try that, to see if your lock is working, open windows, close the doors, put you key in, lock the door and hold it, if your windows goes up, also if you're locking with the key you passenger should lock as well, if it doesn't, something with look, and it's very possible it might be actuator related.

I would take a door panel of a play with it.

Good luck.

Is there any resistance when you turn the key or is it like the lock cylinder isn't attached to anything. I tend to think the actuator rod from the key cylinder to the lock has detached or somthing.

Yes - there is resistance when trying to turn the key. it doesn't turn to lock or unlock.

I would tend to think maybe it's just run a little dry of grease and maybe the lock mechanism itself is frozen. If it unlocks with the power locks but you can't open it with the door locks, it may be time to take the lock mechanism out and have a look. You may need an impact driver (the kind you hit with a hammer) to get the screws on the back of the door out without stripping them.
