Lower AT ****?

I have noticed that the height of the AT shift **** is too high, and can become very uncomfortable to hold during driving because it does not match with the height of the arm rest.

Does anyone know if it is possible to lower the AT shift ****? I do not know if anyone has ever tried to do with by purchasing an aftermarket shift **** or by modifying the shifter assembly itself. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance guys!

Re: Lower AT ****?

In DIY, I've never changed it because I can't find one that I like.

Once you take off the stock ****, isn't that stick thats there the same height? so you can't really shorten the ****? At least I got this much from the pictures. Maybe I'm mistaken though.

Re: Lower AT ****?

I installed the MOMO automatic **** this weekend. It sits about 1 inch loer than the stock **** and has a great all around weight / feel /look.

Install was fairly painless, but it didn't work by following their instructions. If you end up getting one, I'll write you up the modifed instructions...just PM me.

Re: Lower AT ****?

Here are the pics of the momo ****. I have it on my G and I think it looks great (clearly I am a bit bias).

Anyway they are on eBay for like $90-100...I think if you shop around you can find a better deal though. I got mine for $75.

There is already a DIY if you search for it.

Re: Lower AT ****?

I have the MOMO also and you must remove the existing plastic insert to properly install , which allows it to sit an inch+ lower..I'am very pleased with the look and height much better than stock!!!!

The top of the Momo shiftknob IS a button. The only problem I see is that you would need to push that in using your thumb and not the ball of your palm. Is that right guys?

Re: Lower AT ****?

Yes, you use thumb. But the only time you need to push the button is when you are going from park to drive, drive to park or to reverse and back.

Re: Lower AT ****?

As always, your responses are all very helpful.

I did not know the Momo AT **** sits one inch lower than stock. I think this might be the perfect solution. I will look around for good deals. In the meantime, can anyone recommend any websites that are selling these Momo ***** at good prices?

Thanks in advance!
